Known as the “Forest Children”, the Lobi people number over 300,000 in Burkina Faso. Because of continued raids from other tribes, the Lobi developed fortress-type houses and poison arrow weapons.  They are animistic with worship of deceased ancestors and objects of nature.

Most have never yet heard a clear presentation of the Gospel message, but that is beginning to change!

Bethany’s missionary, Sam Dunya sent a young missionary to the Lobi region of Burkina Faso. In four months this young missionary started a church. And now, two entire Lobi villages have embraced Christianity. God is building his church among the Lobi.  So, let’s pray large prayers for the “Forest Children” of Burkina Faso! The future doesn’t belong to animistic spirits or forces hostile to the gospel. They do not own the future. The future belongs to Jesus Christ.

The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.” (Revelation 11:15)
