Brian Schwarz

Senior Vice President of Bethany Support Operations

Brian brings a wealth of knowledge to his role as SVP of Operations. Ten years in various positions at Wells Fargo trained him well to oversee the departments of Human Resources, Communications & Marketing, and Advancement at Bethany. As a serious multi-tasker, he’s also responsible for outcomes with Bethany Global University’s (BGU) Admissions, Work Study Program, and Financial Aid teams. As he works best when visualizing charts and graphs, Brian thrives in front of a whiteboard with a fistful of dry-erase markers.

But data and projects haven’t always been his gig. After earning his B.A. in Business Administration at Augsburg University, he toured as lead vocal and guitarist with his band, then volunteered as a worship leader for his church youth group. He and his wife Kara enjoy parenting their two boys, Caspian and Everett, and kind of enjoy the dog and cat that come with the “family” package. They also have a passion for mentoring college-aged students. Brian and Kara (also on staff) prayed for years to find a ministry with this age group. Eventually, God paved the path to BGU and Bethany and they are thrilled to do life and ministry here.
